In this video, I’m unboxing the Circular Ring 2, a smart ring from a company I’ve been following since day one. Circular’s journey has been anything but smooth — delays, buggy apps, hardware issues, and support problems plagued their first generation.
But now they’re back, with a Kickstarter hit, over 10,000 backers, and promising features like ECG, SpO2, HRV, temperature, sleep tracking, AI Kira – all without a subscription.
However, there’s a catch. Circular 2 isn’t fully custom-made — it’s based on a Chinese Linktop Cardio Ring with Circular’s own software on top. And more importantly, the vibration motor is gone. That means no silent alarm – the feature that once made Circular unique. Worse, this was not clearly communicated to backers.
So the big question is: Can Circular handle the scale this time? If they struggled with a smaller user base before, how will they manage thousands of new users?
